Why do religious countries (Ghana, Pakistan etc) who supposedly have an ideology of God‘s existence or a god in control show a retrogressing nature when it comes to developmental sights?
Why does highly industrialized and developed nations like China and Britain have more people who eschew religion for science?
Why are atheists, secular people and agnostics normally rich and well established?
Why is this hypothesis possible?
Hypothesis: The higher a country’s commitment to a deity, the lower its prove of development and vice versa.
“Although atheists and irreligious people certainly exist in every country, we definitively find much lower concentrations of atheism and secularity in poorer, less developed nations than in the richer imdustrialized democracies.” – Pippa Norris and Ronald Inglehart (2004).
Below is an excerpt from Sam Harris‘ book “Letter To A Christian Nation.”
While you believe that bringing an end to religion is an impossible goal, it is important to realize that much of the developed world has nearly accomplished it. Norway, Iceland, Australia, Canada, Sweden, Switzerland, Belgium, Japan, the Netherlands, Denmark, and the United Kingdom are among the least religious societies on earth. According to the United Nations’ Human Development Report (2005) they are also the healthiest, as indicated by life expectancy, adult literacy, per capita income, educational attainment, gender equality, homicide rate, and infant mortality. Insofar as there is a crime problem in Western Europe, it is largely the product of immigration. Seventy percent of the inmates of France’s jails, for instance, are Muslim. The Muslims of Western Europe are generally not atheists. Conversely, the fifty nations now ranked lowest in terms of the United Nations’ human development index are unwaveringly religious.
The questions above goes to all. From Christians, Muslims, any other religious person in any religion, Atheist, Agnostics, Philosophers to Secular people.

Atheism is simply not believing in the existence of God or any form of deity. One with this believe is called an Atheist. Woody Allen, Stephen Hawking, Fidel Castro, Richard Dawkins, Billy Joel, Bill Gates, Christopher Hitchens and Sam Harris are some of the world’s famous atheists.
Agnosticism asserts that the concept of the existence of God or any diety is unknowable, unproven, unknown and unprovable. They simply doubt or have an uncertainty for God’s existence. People with this belief are unsure and undecided about the existence of God. They are called Agnostics. Antonio Banderas, Larry King, Warren Buffet, Larry David, Alan Dershowitz, Richard Dreyfuss, Umberto Eco, Enrico Fermi and James Taylor are agnostics.
Agnostics and Atheists are sometimes collectively called skeptics, freethinkers or humanists.
Secularism has a view and action of not allowing religious beliefs to interfere with governmental issues. This simply means one can believe in the existence of God or gods yet practice the concept of secularism. Kosmin in 2007 described a secular person as “someone who is non-religious, irreligious or generally uninterested in, indifferent to, or oblivious to religious beliefs, activities and organizations.”
Theism is simply the belief in the existence of at least one deity. All religions fall under theism and those who believe in this concept are called theists.
The religious simply believe in the existence of God or any deity and in turn worship the deity in question. There are numerous religions on earth. They include Christianity, Islam, Shintoism, Buddhism, Hinduism, Judaism, Traditional worship and et cetera.
Don’t forget to give your submissions in the dialogue box below on why countries with much theists are underdeveloped while countries with a sizeable number of atheists are highly developed.
